Resumen Ejecutivo

The demand for a more efficient agricultural production process increase each day. Rising costs of water use, fertilization, and pest control is a big issue for farmers, who must pass theses costs on to the consumers in order to remain profitable.

Objetivo General

The demand for a more efficient agricultural production process increase each day. Rising costs of water use, fertilization, and pest control is a big issue for farmers, who must pass theses costs on to the consumers in order to remain profitable. To face these problemas, timely and cost effective data collection is necessary. Aerial based data collection can provide an overview of field health, but is often expensive, in the case of manned aircraft, or not timely as is the case of satellite data.

Objetivo Específico

To develop a low-cost, integrated sensor module for agricultural drones.

  • Selection of appropriate sensors for agricultural use: RGB, NIR and Thermal.
  • Selection of microcomputer and battery.
  • Development of module housing.
  • Image analysis procedures according to agricultural characteristics (image mosaics).
  • Software interface development.
